Not only roads of rural areas are in bad shape but also the irrigation system, the backbone of agriculture, has yet to be adequately developed in rural Kashmir. Sukhi built 571 kilo-meter irrigation channels in rural area of Neelum Valley. In some areas, these irrigation channels are also used to operate hydel power turbines, installed by Sukhi to generate electricity.

i)        Union Council Gurez: A total 80 km irrigation channels were built and repaired in UC Gurez. These irrigation channels provided benefit to the villages of Halmat, Nakroon, Karimabad, Jandar Sari, Phoolvi, Janavi, Dakhi, Sawnar, Machal and village Sardari.

ii)      Union Council Kail: Thirty-five irrigation channels and 40 hydel power channels were build in collaboration of WFP and local population. People of villages, Dokran, Kail Maidan, Neelum, Aurukang Kail, Lami Patti, Khakian, Kail Sari are among the beneficiaries.

iii)    Union Council Sharda: There are a total 37 irrigation channels were re-constructed by Sukhi. Hydel power units were installed on three water channels which provide electricity to the people of Khargan, Sharda and Khawaja Sari. The irrigation channels were built in village Surgan, Beaguan, Meatyian wali Sari, Tata pani, Maidan, kharigan, khawaja sari, haji peerian and Malik sari.      

iv)     Union Council Dudhinal: Three hydel power channels and 48 irrigation channels were built and some of them repaired in union council Dudhinal. The villages where the irrigation channels were constructed include Doset, Mandkro, Thijan, Bantil, Shaikh meela, Subbhi, Batangi, Rashina, Thanda pani, Beesa wali, Chree and Kanik.

v)       Union Council Neelum: There are two hydel channels and 63 irrigation channels were built by Sukhi. Communities of Changam, Kingoo, Sari, Dawrian, Lawat, Palri, Lawat pain, Lawat Bala, Nigdar, Neelum and Aoor are among beneficiaries.

vi)     Union Council Athmaqam: A total 60 irrigation channels were constructed in villages Lala, Dangir, Baguna, Athuai, Danaudra, Salkhatar, Baguna bin Chatter and village Palri.

vii)   Union Council Shahkot: Sukhi has constructed 83 irrigation channels in villages of Salkhali, Shahkot, Khata peerian, Lari mangil and village Bata.

viii) Union Council Kundal Shahi: A total 55 irrigation channels were built in villages Kiyan Sharif, Matoo, Kutan, Jagran.

ix)    Union Council Ashkot: Sukhi built more than 80 irrigation channels in UC Ashkot, which provided benefit to people of Islam pura, Jura, Satra, dana, bandi, Kutha chugali.

x)      Union Council Barian: In this union council 30 irrigation channels were constructed which gave benefit to the villages Chali, Phulagan, Chulyiana, Riali, Chugali and Meer pura.
